Established in 2014, CCIC-SET material analysis lab is operated by a specialist team with in-depth knowledge and rich experience. Our testing lab possesses strong technical skills, advanced test and analysis instrument and profuse experimental experiences capable of providing conclusive analyses on chemical elements, structure, properties, quality and material or element contents to help enterprises inspecting product compositions, reliability evaluation, quality assurance and quality evaluation of new materials.


Metallic materials

CCIC-SET can meet your metallic material analysis needs which arise in various sectors ranging from pressure casting, fusion casting and iron/steel metallurgy to non-ferrous metal industry, from composition inspection of incoming/delivery of materials to metallic material composition analysis for automotive and machinery manufacturing industries. Food Laboratory

CCIC-SET food laboratory holds CMAF and CNAS accreditations. Since the foundation in 2014, the food lab has developed a team of specialists who have both strong theoretical background and rich working experiences.

CCIC-SET food lab can provide testing for metal, ceramic, glass, enamel, plastic, rubber, silicone, elastomer, paper, bamboo, wood and various coating materials which are used in different food contact products such as tableware, kitchenware, kitchen appliances, children's products, food packaging products, food production machinery, and food transportation equipment. Testing items cover sensory analysis, microbial, overall migration, metal elements content and migration, monomer content and migration, color migration, peroxide value, volatile organic compounds, physical and chemical properties, etc.

With those instruments, we can conduct sampling preparation (extraction, digestion, burning of high temperature, sterile cultivation, etc.) and do analysis according to customer’s needs.


Services:

So far, food contact materials have a very wide application in people’s daily life. However, studies have shown that harmful constituents of these materials can “migrate” into the packaged food depending on various environment and foodstuff and thus pose risks to consumers. Concerns over this issue are on increase. Governments also continually implement and update regulation of food contact materials to safeguard consumer’s health and safety.

In 2005, EU released Regulation 1935/2004/EC as a new regulation for food contact materials and articles (Full name: Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 2004 on Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Food). This Regulation has been enforced since 27 October 2004 regulating that food contact materials should be safe and should not transfer their components into the foodstuff with unacceptable quantities which could endanger human health; should not bring about an unacceptable change in the composition of the food; and should not bring about deterioration in the sensory characteristics (such as taste, odor, color, etc.). 

Regulation 1935/2004 / EC lays down the general regulating framework for food contact materials and products in EU. Following this regulation, EU continued to issue Directive 84/500/EEC for ceramics and Directive 93/10/EEC for regenerated cellulose film., The Official Journal of the European Union (OJ) published Directive 2005/79/EC on November 19, 2005 and Directive 2007/19/EC on March 31, 2007, the former to update Directive 2002/72/EC and the latter to Directive 85/572/EEC. In addition to strictly adopting Regulation 2004/1935/EC, some member states also implement their local food regulations, such as German LFGB and French DGCCRF 2004-64 and French Décret nº 92-631.

LFGB also referred to as “Food, Tobacco Products, Cosmetics and other Commodities Administration Law” is the fundamental law in Germany for food hygiene regulation. It lays down the principles and core requirements for the formulation of other specialized food and hygiene laws and regulations. In recent years, it has also been modified mainly for the purpose of matching related European standards.

LFGB regulates all kinds of materials including those manufactured via the latest techniques; typically they are ceramics, synthetic plastics, PVC, plasticizer, paper, leather, textiles, cosmetics, tobacco and so on.

Product types include: food contact electrical products such as toaster, sandwich oven, electric kettle; food storage articles; kitchen utensils such as tempered glass cutting board and stainless steel kettle; tableware articles such as bowl, knife, fork, spoon, and coaster

Food contact materials or products to be sold in French should comply with not only EU Regulation 1935/2004/EC but also French local relevant regulations such as French DGCCRF 2004-64 and French Décret nº 92-631. French regulations follow the requirements of EU regulations for plastic, rubber, and ceramic glass products. However, they do have local special requirements for metal products. To take cooking utensils with organic coating as an example, both their coating surface and base metal must be tested according to relevant standards. In addition, requirements, typically for metallic composition and heavy metal migration limit, also vary depending on specific metal materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, etc. So French regulations for this part are more complicated than in other countries. We should notice that according to the French regulation food contact materials shall not contain brass.

The United States regulates most of the food contact materials and products mainly through Food Additives Petition (FAP). A food contact material, when permitted for usage only by FAP, will be recorded in the corresponding regulation of United States FDA CFR 21 parts 170-180. Japan and South Korea also have their laws for food contact materials.

The “Knife and Fork” logo is a sign for food safety. Appearing on food contact products, it indicates that the product has been tested to German and European standards and proven to contain no harmful substances to consumer’s health in compliance with German LFGB regulation. Thus the product can be sold in German and other European and American markets. On the European market, this logo is a powerful marketing tool which can enhance customer confidence and purchase desire to greatly increase the product competitiveness.

Founded in 2004, CCIC-SET battery lab is accredited according to CMA and CNAS standards.

With depth expertise and rich experience, our battery lab has participated for many times in the formulation of lithium battery standards and domestic certification rules, and plays an active role in the drafting and revision of relevant industry or organization standards.

In recent years, with the continual upgrading of battery materials and technology as well as expanded application, battery safety incidents occur from time to time. Battery Certification Services

CQC Voluntary Certification

CQC mark battery certification, one of the voluntary product certification businesses of China Quality Certification Center, is a verification of battery’s compliance with quality, safety, performance, EMC and other relevant certification requirements by using CQC mark. On August 1, 2015, China's first lithium ion mandatory standard GB 31241-2014 Lithium Ion Cells and Batteries Used in Portable Electronic Equipments-Safety Requirements was formally implemented, which has widely promoted the battery certification in China. As a designated national laboratory for CQC certification, CCIC-SET is able to offer CQC mark battery certification services, covering various product types such as electric bicycle lithium ion batteries, portable electronic product lithium ion batteries, and portable mobile power supply.

CB Battery Certification

CB scheme established by IECEE (IEC System of Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components) is the global system of mutual recognition for electrical products. The Scheme is based on the principle of mutual recognition by its members of test results for obtaining certification or approval at national level, intended to reduce obstacles to international trade which arise from having to meet different national certification or approval criteria. 

North America UL, FCC and CSA Battery Certification

North American certification (voluntary) is primarily based on the requirements of laws and regulations. For example, US NRTL certification system is based on the CFR29 regulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) affiliated to U.S. Department of Labor (US DOL); FCC certification is based on CFR49 regulated by Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Obtaining certification from any of the NRTLs, such as UL, CSA, and ENTELA, electric and electronic products on the list of CFR29 will be considered in conformity with North American laws and regulations.


Cosmetic Lab

The cosmetics lab of CCIC-SET chemistry division is accredited in compliance with CMA and CNAS standards.

Professional technique Team: Since the establishment in 2005, CCIC-SET cosmetic lab has developed a professional team with fund of theoretical knowledge and experiences in this area.

Our Services

Almost all cosmetic products are chemical synthetic. Even though they can beautify people`s appearance, cosmetic products will more or less produce some harmful substances. According to Hygienic Standard for Cosmetics, there are 421 chemical substances prohibited and over 300 chemical substances restricted in cosmetic ingredients, some of which have strong properties of toxicity, mutagenicity, carcinogenicity or teratogenicity, are very likely to cause obvious skin or mucosa injury, or have certain biological activity which specific cosmetic products are not intended to have. In spite of this, there are always cosmetic formula designers who include prohibited substances or excessively use restricted substances in their product formula.

Combining the strengths of CCIC-SET with CQC, we are a public testing and certification platform and the ideal partner to verify products’ compliance to relevant standards and facilitate their smooth entry into any market in the world.

Developed over 10 years, CCIC-SET chemistry now has 5 labs by testing technique, they are, chemical lab (RoHS), physical and chemical analysis lab, physical property lab, function safety lab, and microorganism lab; has 9 businesses by product types, they are, electronic and electrical products lab (chemical lab), environment testing lab, toy testing lab, textiles testing lab, food testing lab, material analysis lab, cosmetics testing lab, battery testing lab, and shopping mall quality control lab.

RoHS /WEEE certification

European Union RoHS Regulation (RoSH Directive 2002/95/EC) and WEEE Regulation (WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC) have become official laws of European Union since February 13, 2003. Under WEEE Directive, the manufacturers of electronic and electrical equipment are directly responsible in the legal sense for the disposal of the waste of their products sold in the EU market since August 13, 2005. Under RoHS Directive, since July 1, 2006, all electronic and electrical equipment sold in the EU market are prohibited with the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, six valence chromium and other heavy metals, as well as flame retardants such as PBDE and PBB. Because these two legislations will greatly affect China's exports of electronic products to the EU market, domestic relevant industries pay high attention and take active measures to ensure that these two environmental protection legislations will not cause substantial damage to China’s exports of electronic and electrical products.

ROHS is the abbreviation of Restriction of Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in EEE. The so-called ROHS Directive is the EU Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive adopted by the European Parliament and the Council in 2003.

 WEEE is the abbreviation of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. WEEE Directive refers to Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive passed by European Parliament and the Council.

 Hazardous substance of electronic and electrical product: Pb, Hg, Cd, Cr6+, PBB and PBDE etc. The value of the flame retardant shall not exceed the prescribed limit

SVHC:Substance of Very High Concern. According to the REACH regulation, SVHC is a general designation of various hazardous substances, and SVHC include causing cancer and distortion, upto the virus, biological accumulation and a series of high hazardous substances. It is suitable for electronic and electrical products testing.

3. Phthalates test service

Phthalate is a kind of widely used plasticizer, which has been widely used in the line materials, plastics and paint. Annex XVII Item &52 of the REACH regulation (EC) No.1907/2006 directive lists six kinds of phthalate substances DEHP, DIDP, DBP, DNOP, in which the first three kinds of DEHP, BBP, DBP shall not be used for children's toys and supplies, the each content in plastic should not exceed 0.1%. Three kinds of DINP, DNOP and DIDP shall not be used in children's toys and children's toys and children's products, the each content shall not exceed 0.1%. The European Union issued a new directive on Phthalate (2005/84/EC), and began to implement in January 2007.

4. Halogens test service

In the Periodic Table of the Elements, the group of VIIA includes fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br) and iodine (I), astatine (At), collectively known as the halogen. Because Astatine (At) is radioactive element, it is almost non-existent in the product, the first four elements in the product especially exists in form of organic polymer compounds. The products of halogen compounds are mainly for flame retardant: PBB, PBDE, TBBP-A, PCB, hexabromo-Cyclododecane, pentachlorophenol and medium chain chlorinated paraffin; As refrigerants and insulating material of ozone depleting substances: CFCs and HCFCs and HFCs etc. Simultaneously, the European Union WEEE has strict requirements on CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs, Bromum and PVC, the international companies are actively promoting the abolition of products containing halogen materials.

5. PAHs testing service

PAHs is a kind of hazardous substances produced in incomplete combustion or in high temperature treatment of oil, coal and other fuels and wood, combustible gas, which usually exists in petroleum chemical Industry products, rubber, plastic, lubricating oil, anti rust oil, incomplete combustion of organic compounds and other substances, it is one of the major carcinogens in the environment. The official resolutions file 01-08 ZEK of German Security Technology Certification Center ZLS (GS authority) in April 1, 2008: GS logo certification will be compulsory added the requirements of PAHs, in case of insufficient, the product will not be able to get GS certificate. 18 new substances can be tested at present.
