SINGAPORE HAS NOTIFUED WTO OF SG RoHS

SINGAPORE national Environment Agency (NEA) has notified WTO of SG RoHS on 9 July 2015. NEA is proposing for an inclusion of the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) in six categories Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) under the Second Schedule of the existing Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA). Singapore RoHS (SG RoHS) is adapted from the EU RoHS Directive, Directive 2011/65/EU. All EEE at listed manufactured or imported for sale in Singapore, must comply with the restrictions. NEA will release official gazette SG RoHS in the 4th quarter of 2015. The restrictions would be effected after one year from the date of Singapore‘s official gazette announced SG RoHS.

Although it has not been formal effective, but enterprises still need to understand and master the technology content of  the SG RoHS, carry out supply chain survey. So as to a timely response once SG RoHS come in force.
